Spartan   Band   Staff

The Band and Colorguard is under some major changes this year, with a new director and a brand new staff. We are lucky to have our staff who work hard to make sure we become the best performers, on and off the field.

The staff comes from different areas and backgrounds, but they have a common goal: to make the RMHS Spartan Band and Colorguard the best!!

RMHS Band and Colorguard bids farewell to Corey, as he has left us to begin his career as a Band Director at Lamoore High School. We wish him the best of luck!

___ James Watson, Marching and Brass Instructor

James graduated along with Ms. Alvarez from SMHS in 1996, where he was Baritone and Trombone section leader in Marching Band for two years. He joined USMC in July 1996, then joined current reserve unit HMLA-775 based in Camp Pendleton in June 1997. James has performed with the SBCC Lunchbreak and Good Times jazz bands from fall of 1997 through spring 2001, and was trumpet section leader in both bands for last three years. Other performance groups include: The Monday Madness all-pro reading band, the SBCC concert band, and SBCC symphonic band.

James has been and instructor at San Marcos High School since the fall of 1999 as both a High Brass and Visual Instructor, as well as offering private instruction around town. He also works at Kellogg Elementary School as Brass Instuctor, as well as working at Rio Mesa as Marching/Brass Instructor.

James Has an AS in Computer Science from SBCC, is currently working at Cisco Systems Inc., all while still attending school earning both Math and Music AA's. One weekend a month, James also reports to drill with HMLA-775 in Camp Pendleton.
